Hyundai Ioniq 5 Police Car
The Ioniq 5 in Korean National Police Agency patrol livery, the EV used by Seoul's police stations.
About the car
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was revealed in February 2021 as the first model on Hyundai's E-GMP dedicated electric platform, with styling that references the 1975 Pony. Its 800-volt system allows charging from 10 to 80 percent in about 18 minutes on a 350 kW charger, and a 3,000 mm wheelbase gives a flat floor and sliding centre console. Rear- and all-wheel-drive versions used 58 or 72.6 kWh batteries at launch. It was named 2022 World Car of the Year. The Korean National Police Agency runs Ioniq 5 patrol cars, and in 2026 Korea committed to buying only electric or hydrogen police vehicles by 2035, starting at Gangnam station in Seoul.
